Donegal Pens is etched into a successful business

The story of Donegal Pens goes back to September 2009 when West Donegal brothers Rónán and Conor Mc Garvey, then aged 13 and 10, were on a day out in County Antrim with their family. Little did they realise that a chance meeting that day with a wood turner would result in them setting up a small business and being ranked among Ireland’s youngest entrepreneurs.

Located in North-West Donegal, overlooking the wild Atlantic Ocean, Rosapenna offers a unique level of comfort, cuisine...and of course, golf. Where the water meets the wild and excellence is PAR for the course.

Stunning, amazing, heaven's reflex, a golfer's paradise, these are only some of the phrases used by Rosapenna's guests over the last 116 years, ever since the 4th Earl of Leitrim asked Old Tom Morris of St Andrews to travel to his estate in Donegal and build him a golf course.

The Old Tom Morris Course was built in 1891 with the hotel following in 1893. Since then the hotel has been transformed into the largest privately owned golf resort in Ireland. We now have a 72 bedroom 4 star luxury hotel, two 18 hole championship links courses (the second being designed by Pat Ruddy of the European Club outside Dublin & Ballyliffin's Glashedy Club), putting greens, driving range, golf pavilion offering golf clinics throughout the year & 2009 will see the opening of our 9 hole academy course.
